This blog isn't really about Veteran's Day other than to say if you know a vet, thank them. Sadly the few military people that I know mostly fall into the "ex" category and I'd rather tell them to eff off and die than thank them. Or I could thank them for the heartache they caused. Or, I could thank them for making me a better person because they definitely helped me grow. Or I could thank them for showing me that inherently everyone pretty much sucks. Wow tangent I didn't expect to take.
Thank a vet if you know one.
Days like today I sorta wish I had a cushy guvmnt job where I could be OFF and paid for it because the guvmnt said I had to stay home and let them give me money. Seriously though, I would go nuts in one of those jobs. Just the time I spent at UA when I worked there part time I couldn't believe the culture of I'll get to it when I get to it. I seriously could do the jobs of 3 of their librarians. I probably already do. I do the work of 2 now and I'm not even in the cushy relaxed atmosphere.
I ditched my landline today. Well, it won't offically be gone until next week but I got rid of it. I only used it for my Pure Romance business anyhow and most of the time I used my cell phone for it anyhow. I only ever had the landline for DSL service and now you can get DSL without it anyhow. One less thing to pay for that I don't use. Now I just have to pray that there's not a disaster that takes out cellular service.
I started brainstorming/preparing my ACME presentation. I guess since it is umm only 2 months away I probably better start laying a foundation so my chances of being a complete failure diminish a bit. I'm sure it'll be fine, I'm just not used to having co-presenters and being able to work at my own pace and my own expectations. The thing of it is that I have co-presenters, but I don't. They're listed because that's the "institutional" thing to do, I'm the one doing the work and presenting the session. It'll be nice to not be the only one at the podium though. Someone will have my back when I stumble. That is a great thing to have.
**Update** I won't be the only one presenting! Phew!!! I wasn't sure how it would work but we'll be doing it together. Yay!!!**
